What's New In Lake George NY: Fun Events, News & More!

Heroic Corn Maze Opening at Fort Ticonderoga

Ready or not, a sign of fall is here already! Though the summer is not quite through, there’s a fall fun activity beginning this week: Fort Ticonderoga’s Heroic Corn Maze Adventure, opening August 15! The Heroic Maze is included in Fort Ticonderoga’s general admission price and will be open through October 19.

If you are looking for a fun family activity in the Lake George region that combines solving puzzles and testing your knowledge of history with fresh air, sunshine and over two miles of winding trails, Fort Ticonderoga’s Heroic Maze is for you! The six-acre corn maze will challenge you to test your navigational skills among towering stalks of corn.

Fort Ticonderoga developed the Heroic Maze with a professional maze design company from Utah that used computer technology to translate intricate designs onto the landscape, creating a fun and exciting quest. This year’s maze design features the shape of Fort Ticonderoga. It is divided into phases allowing two levels of difficulty, giving you the chance to gain confidence in the smaller maze before tackling the main maze. The average journey will take from 20 minutes for the first phase up to an hour for the second phase.

New this year! “Engineer a Fort” Maze Quest

Hidden in the maze are eight new stations, each representing a component of an 18th-century fort. Players are given a Quest Card to collect a stamp from each station. It takes perseverance and skill to find all the objects. Great fun for all ages!

Kiddie Corn Maze Back by Popular Demand

Fort Ticonderoga’s youngest guests will have the chance to explore a kiddie corn maze. Taking less than five minutes to navigate with no dead ends, kids will have a blast and be in and out in no time.

Experience the Maze by Moonlight!

Explore the corn maze using your flashlight as a guide and under the light of the full moon. On Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, the mysteries of the night will surround you as you search for hidden stations in the maze to complete the “Engineer a Fort” Maze Quest. The gates open at 7 pm and the cost is $10 per person. Tickets are available at the door until one hour prior to closing.

Group Visits

The Heroic Maze will be open for group visits on Thursdays and Fridays in September and October from 10 am until 2 pm. School field trip groups and other group tours will have the opportunity to learn about Fort Ticonderoga’s dramatic story while building teamwork skills as part of a fun, interactive, interdisciplinary quest. Registration is required.

Fort Ticonderoga’s Heroic Maze is a fun adventure for families, groups, and individuals alike. Be sure to check it out!
