What's New In Lake George NY: Fun Events, News & More!

Three New Programs at Fort Ticonderoga This Season

Fort Ticonderoga has three exciting new programs for the summer, giving you and your family more ways to have the Lake George summer vacation to remember.

For the outdoor adventurer in your troop, the new Carillon Battlefield Trail is perfect for
woodland adventurers of all ages. The self-guided 1.7 mile trail will take you through the site’s historical battlefield features as you pass encampment sites, 18th-century barricades and study the rich topography of the region. Be sure to pick up a brochure at the trail head! The trail will be open until October 20.
The new 2013 exhibit “It would make a heart of stone melt” Sickness, Injury, and Medicine at Fort Ticonderoga will study the well-organized medical system of Fort Ticonderoga. With the outbreak of smallpox in 1775, this medical system was responsible for keeping the American army in New York largely disease free. Learn about the medical practices, diseases of the army and the treatment of wounds for the French, British and American armies.
Explore Fort Ticonderoga by water! Canoe rentals are now available to gain a water-level perspective on America’s Fort. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere as you journey down the La Chute River. Perfect for a hot summers day and make sure to pick up the brochure, highlighting both historical and natural feature as you paddle! Rentals are open until October 14.
What are you waiting for? Adventure awaits.
