Special Saturday Edition of Fridays at the Lake
The Village of Lake George has announced a Fridays at the Lake Saturday Edition for this weekend, September 25, to entertain visitors to the region for the Adirondack Balloon Festival and Americade. The event is scheduled in part to replace the opening block party that usually takes place at Americade.
The Blue Moon Band will open at 6pm, followed by E.B. Jeb. Admission is free and there will be food trucks and a beer/wine tent.
Americade Is Underway in the Village
A slightly altered Americade is back in action now through Saturday, with most indoor events now taking place outdoors. Director of Americade Christian Dutcher told News Channel 13 that this may be the only year Americade takes place in the fall, allowing for a unique chance for riders to experience this popular event while the leaves are changing.
Local Teenager Honored With Adirondack 46er Title
Ella Pardy, daughter of Adirondack Winery owners Sasha and Mike Pardy, is a newly declared Adirondack 46er, reports the Glens Falls Chronicle. She’s 16 now, but 15 when she summitted all 46 High Peaks in five weeks with five other campers and two counselors as part of an annual backpacking adventure with YMCA Camp Chingachgook.
This intense experience would be a massive undertaking for most, but especially this year, as the crew did their hikes during one of the wettest Julys on record in the region.
It’s officially fall – check out the Fall Guide >>
