Boats By George continues to expand their presence around the lake! After taking on a second marina/fourth location in 2018, the notable boat dealer just recently announced their acquisition of a fifth location: the Lake George Forum.

Boats by George has purchased the Lake George Forum at 2200 U.S. 9, Lake George. This is a 50,000-square-foot facility that will be converted from a convention center and ice rink to a destination showroom with “state-of-the-art interactive technology” and as many as 50 display boats at a given time.
“We have outgrown our showroom at 18 State Route 149,” President and CEO George Pensel said in a statement. “With five brands, we desperately needed the additional space. It will take approximately 12 months to complete renovations prior to opening the new facility to the public.”
The five boat brands Boats By George now carries are Axis, Barletta, Chris Craft, Cobalt, and Malibu. Their current four locations are the showroom on Route 149 in Lake George, the service center and storage facility on Route 149 in Fort Ann, and two marinas in Cleverdale and Queensbury; the Cleverdale location is also where you’ll find Patty’s Watersports, a division of Boats By George (which is run by George Pensel’s wife, Patty Pensel).
Fun fact: If indeed the location is ready for action in 2022, the opening will coincide with Boats By George’s 40th anniversary, having gotten their start in 1982.
