We love the Queen of American Lakes and it appears that Fodor’s Travel Guide does too! Lake George was recently recognized by the publication for its pristine and swimmable waters.
A Swimmer’s Paradise
On Fodor’s list of “10 Swimmer’s Paradises in the U.S. (That Aren’t Oceans)”, Lake George was praised for its “plethora of options” as far as swimming-related activities go. They mentioned the several beaches scattered up and down the 32-mile long lake, and also emphasized that water enthusiasts can take a boat into a bay for swimming in deeper waters.
Other bodies of water that made Fodor’s list include Cummins Falls (TN), Lake Powell (AZ), Homestead Crater (UT), Lake Tahoe (CA, NV), Redfish Lake (ID), Krause Springs (TX), Warren Falls (VT), Silver Glen Springs (FL), and Three Pools (OR).
