Lake George frequently receives national accolades, usually relating to the lake itself, such as when it was named one of the top 10 clearest lakes in the country in 2016 by VacationsMadeEasy.com. Recently, Lake George has received three new recognitions, with only one having to do with the Queen of American Lakes.
Lake George is One of the Top 14 Picturesque Lakes in the US
Red Book Magazine, a shopping/beauty/style magazine and website, highlighted the 14 most picturesque lakes in the US because “ocean views get all the glory.” They wanted to showcase lakes and their surrounding areas as some of the most gorgeous landscapes in our country.
Here’s what they had to say about Lake George: “Lake George, also in Upstate New York, is Lake Champlain’s more popular neighbor. Lake George is famous for the Narrows, a stretch of the lake with lots of small, rocky islands.” Indeed, nearby Lake Champlain also made the list, noted for its remoteness.
Lake George: The Perfect Socially Distant Summer Weekend Getaway From NYC
Vogue – Vogue! – came up with Five Perfect (and Socially Distant) Summer Weekend Getaways From New York City and Lake George came in grouped with the Adirondacks. Vogue focused on The Sagamore as a major attraction for its many on-site activities, proximity to the lake, and rich history. Hiking was highlighted as one of the ideal socially distant activities to enjoy in the area.
Lake George Has the Best RV Park in the State
MSN dug up the dirt on the best RV park in every state. As with Vogue’s accolade, MSN put together this list with social distancing in mind; many may hear the call of the open road and spacious parks this summer! They picked RV parks that “go the extra mile” when it comes to safety – and everything else.
Lake George RV Park took the title for New York State. The 120-acre, family-owned park comprises swimming pools and a mini water park that are all currently open (only for the guests!), they have well-maintained biking and hiking trails that spread out into the Lake George area, and there are over 400 RV sites with back-in and pull-through options available. And, they have COVID-19 precautions in place.
