For the first time in 53 years the show will not go on for the Lake George Dinner Theatre, who announced the cancellation of their 2020 season this week. The theatre company will bring back the hit “Shear Madness” in 2021 – here’s what else they had to say about the cancellation.
The Lake George Dinner Theatre issued a statement on the cancellation and posted a video on their Facebook page. In the statement, they indicated the comedy sensation Shear Madness, which began on their stage in 1978, will return in 2021 instead of 2020.
If you have already purchased a ticket or gift certificate for the 2020 season, you can simply hold onto your ticket for the following year. Or, you can transfer the value of your 2020 ticket to a tax-deductible donation for the theatre, to help ensure its return next season. You can also opt for a refund. Whatever your choice, the theatre company asks ticketholders to email them to let them know at BoxOffice@LakeGeorgeDinnerTheatre.org.
In the meantime, keep an eye on their Facebook page for memories, messages, and funny stories and songs from various artists who have worked with the Lake George Dinner Theatre over the years – including you, if you have a story!
“We’re focused on bringing you new initiative and exploring creative options to entertain you until we can meet in person once more,” Sharon Reynolds, President of the Board of Directors, said in the Facebook message.
