The moment we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived – the first weekend of the annual Lake George Winter Carnival! Plan a short getaway to the Lake George Region this weekend for all kinds of carnival fun, events, and activities.
Experience a Winter Carnival
The first weekend of the annual Lake George Winter Carnival will include a full schedule of events and activities on and off the ice, weather permitting. Mark your calendar for the opening ceremonies, outhouse races, chili cook-off, hot chocolate bar, youth hockey scrimmages, parade, fireworks, and more!
Feel like exploring the region during your weekend trip to Lake George? Head down south to Jackson for their fantastic Winterfest! Highlights will include ice fishing, games & activities, sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a bonfire.

The Holiday Inn Resort in Lake George will feature their first ice bar this weekend and next. Stop by from 3:00pm-10:00pm on Friday and Saturday and enjoy the ice bar, fire pits, and great drinks. Admission is free.
Weather permitting, King Neptune’s Pub welcomes visitors to their Ice Castle throughout the month of February during hours of operation. There will also be an ice luge, a special winter cocktail menu, and more. You can also catch the Super Bowl at their party on Sunday night!
Enjoy a Wide Range of Weekend Activities
Participate in a fun activity at Adirondack Winery on Friday night as they host an Uncork & Craft: Twine Bottles event. A special guest instructor will guide you through creating four twine or yarn-wrapped wine bottles. Seats are limited.

Become a part of a game show audience at Adirondack Theatre Festival’s Game Show Benefit on Saturday at the Queensbury Hotel. Dine on a delicious assortment of food and drinks, play some games, and then move to the ballroom for a Game Show hosted by mentalist Max Major!
Due to trail conditions, the date for YMCA Camp Chingachgook’s Adult Snowshoe Day was rescheduled from January to this Saturday, February 3. Visit the camp and enjoy a custom snowshoe adventure with the staff. The event will run from 9:00am-4:00pm, and the cost to participate is $43 for YMCA members and $48 for non-members.
The Adirondack Runners’ annual Polar Cap Run will be held at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Lake George Village on Saturday morning. Featuring four miles of frosty fun, this course will challenge runners with rolling hills and winding streets throughout the area.
