The Sagamore Resort made a recent list of the top 12 resorts in New York State and the Mid-Atlantic! The list was put together by Conde Nast Traveler, an award-winning luxury and lifestyle travel magazine. See where The Sagamore placed!
The Sagamore Resort
The Sagamore came in at number nine! It’s pretty exciting that one of our own Lake George resorts came in the top 10 resorts in not just in New York, but the Mid-Atlantic as well; the Mid-Atlantic is generally known to include New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and West Virginia, as well as New York.
Having originally opened in 1883, The Sagamore has a significant spot in Lake George’s history. Despite some challenges over the years – like two massive fires in 1893 and 1914 – The Sagamore has prospered time and again, and is considered to be one of the most luxurious places to stay in the area.
The resort sits on a 70-acre island offering lakeside accommodations, award-winning dining, a prestigious golf course, a full service spa and salon, and so many other amenities for whatever you might be seeking in a vacation or getaway.
Adirondack Resorts
Not surprisingly, several resorts just north of The Sagamore in the Adirondack region also made the list!
The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa in Lake Placid scored 97.04 out of 100 to land first place! Like The Sagamore, Mirror Lake has a longstanding history in the area, having been originally built in the 1930s.
The other Adirondack resorts that made the cut were The Point at number three, Lake Placid Lodge at number five, and Whiteface Lodge at number eleven.
