Editor’s note 06/03/19: The Eagle Flyer Zip Line will not be opening for Summer 2019
Back in June, we wrote about a new zip line ride, the Eagle Flyer, that was expected to open this summer. Although the project is still progressing, unanticipated delays and additions are pushing the grand opening out to next spring.

The Post Star reported that Ralph Macchio Sr., owner of Wild West Ranch and the man behind the Eagle Flyer, has postponed the ride’s debut so he can have more time to prepare his property. According to The Saratogian, “Plans call for a restaurant, picnic area, game room, gift shop, and paintball target shooing area at the Western-themed ranch, just off Route 9, about three miles south of Lake George village.”
The ride itself will be completed soon, as four 3,450-foot-long cables were recently put into place with the help of helicopters. That length will make the Eagle Flyer one of the longest zip-lines in the United States when it opens, and riders will experience a vertical drop of almost 1,000 feet and speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
