Back in April, I wrote about an archaeological dig that SUNY Adirondack students and volunteers would be conducting in Lake George’s Battlefield Park this summer. The excavation is currently underway, and bits of history have already been uncovered.
Battlefield Park at the southern end of Lake George hosted multiple battles between British and French forces during the French and Indian War. One of those battles was the Battle of Lake George, a series of engagements that is largely considered to be a turning point leading to victory for the British.
