They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and a dynamic duo may soon be coming to the region to put that theory into action. The History Channel’s “American Pickers” is looking for collectors, gatherers, savers, and stockpilers throughout New York to feature on the show, and you could be one of them!

“American Pickers” follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz on their journey across America to find discarded or forgotten items and restore or recreate them into valuable gems. They have a preference for private collections, not antique store showrooms, and will go to any lengths necessary to obtain the items they desire. The Post Star has reported that the pickers are looking for leads in New York and could very well wind up in the Lake George area.
Both The Post Star and The Schroon Laker have noted that on this trip, the pickers are interested in “finds such as vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, vintage musical equipment, vintage automotive items, early firefighting equipment, vintage clothing, and pre-1950s Western gear.”
Production on New York installments is scheduled to begin in April, but no air date has been set. Stay tuned for updates on episodes that could feature your friends, family, or neighbors!
