There will be fun for all at the block party: kids games, bounce houses, dog show, face painting, pony & wagon rides are all on the schedule! Come to Lower Amherst Street, grab some shepard’s pie, a Reuben, or some Guinness stew and celebrate St. Patty’s Day!
Amherst Street also marks the ending point for the 1st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, March 18th. The parade starts at Fort William Henry at noon, and ends right at Amherst Street in front of Duffy’s Tavern!
Searson, three sisters from Canada, will be performing on Sunday at 1:00pm.
There will be more than enough St. Patrick’s Day specials going on in the village, with discounts on drinks, corned beef & cabbage, and even apparel!
The block party kicks off at 10am on Saturday, and the flyer says it won’t end until ‘?’. Awesome, if it’s a good turnout, the party should last a while. Sunday the festivities start at noon, but you won’t be able to drive through the village while the parade is going on, so show up a little early!
This looks like it will be a ton of fun! I’ll definitely be in the village either Saturday or Sunday (let’s face it, probably both) for this celebration. I can taste the corned beef already!
What do you think about block parties? Kind of depends on the weather right? Maybe I’ll see you there!
