A Hidden Gem

I have been coming to Lake George with my husband & children for over 11 years.. My husband has been coming to the lake far more years than that... We have stayed throughout the years in many Resorts/Motels... Now that our children are all grown up we recently decided to add a new member to our family.. We knew adding our four legged friend to our family would be a little challenging for us to stay in Lake George as there are not many Resorts/Motels that allow pets.. I found The Colonial Court through the internet & decided to give it a try.. It was the best decision we made. My husband, myself & our four legged friend 1st came to The Colonial Court on Memorial Day weekend... We try to come every weekend.. The moment we got there we were received with open paws by all the owners dogs who I have to say are the sweetest dogs ever.. We have an 8 month old puppy & he was welcomed as well... Ever since that 1st day we came here our puppy just adores going back every weekend & has even made a best friend.. This resort is not just a vacation for you but it's a vacation for your four legged babies.. They have the liberty to run free... As we all know some dogs don't have the liberty to run outside free because they are locked up in the city waiting to just be freed... This Resort gives them that freedom.. of course if you don't feel comfortable letting your dog loose than that's a choice every guest has... The owner of the resort informs you before you arrive at the resort that the dogs run free & if you didn't feel comfortable with that you could leash your pet.. We haven't had one issue since we have been staying here... The owner & staff have always made us feel welcomed.. Her rooms are adorable & clean... She's accommodating & kind... But the best part of my stay is seeing how happy my puppy is when he comes here... I have had the privilege of being accepted into the pack of dogs that live here.. I think it's because they think I'm the TREAT LADY lol... If your looking for a place to stay with your four legged friend this is the place for you... Of course you can't please every guest but this owner goes above & beyond to make her guests & their pets feel welcomed & loved... I have found my home away from home....
At first I was very glad to find a pet friendly hotel, but when we got there we were not told that strange dogs could just run up to you unsupervised, I am a pet lover and even work in that industry, but any dog can be intimidating especially to a small pup. We had dogs just enter our room because I accidentally left the door ajar just to go get something....As for the room, The AC unit in it was not working properly, as a matter of fact it didnt even have knobs, and it was quite warm and humid outside..As for the bed, UGH!! we had to go out and spend $100 on an air mattress, this was a unexpected expense on our vacation as if the room wasn't costly enough. Did i mention only 3 channels on TV, cable was as basic as can be..We should have enjoyed ourselves and been happy that our pet was allowed to be with us, but in fact it was quite opposite..
