I love the water. As indicated in my Blog Headliner and my first entry, I have been blessed to reside in a town near the ocean; however, since my early exposure to the beautiful and serene Lake George, I felt a pull to become part of what this amazing area offered. Since I was a little kid, my family and I always spent our first day walking the village and along the lake. The picture above is a favorite view of mine. It is simplistic, but full of energy and spirituality. In a nutshell, it is home to me and so many others I have introduced Lake George to.
During my most recent vacation here this past August, some friends of mine accompanied me and my mother prior to the Labor Day weekend. This was their first visit to Lake George. Throughout our ten years of friendship, I constantly bragged about this area and invited them to come at least once and check it out. My friends were lovers of the beach, but I kept persisting. When I was informed they would be able to make it for four days during my vacation, I was ecstatic! I could not wait to share this place that has meant so much to me with people who were such a special part of my life.
After their arrival, we all went into the village and by the lake, just as I have done for almost forty years. It was love at first sight for this couple. Each morning my friend Chris would rise early before the rest of us, travel down to this similar spot, and just enjoy the surroundings. It was such a blessing to see him and his wife drawn to the Adirondacks like my family was. A second couple joined us for part of the holiday and experienced the same feelings of fun and adventure. For me, this was a view of Heaven.
