Wine 101: Delicate Sweets Pairing at Adirondack Winery
For any sweet tooth, the French word Macaron is magical, as their eyes light up with thoughts of the delicate, tender, sweet creations.
We have invited Jim DeJohn, a local baker with a magic touch for Macarons, to our tasting room on Valentine’s weekend to delight you with five unique Macaron creations, specifically created to pair with, and even be infused with, Adirondack Winery wines.
Like wine, every batch of Macarons is unique. Light as air, each beautiful, shiny shell is paired with another and sandwiched around a smooth, luxurious ganache or cream filling; which allows for imaginative pairings and infusions of flavors, colors and textures.
At this Wine 101, we’ll be serving up a Macarons with flavors ranging from lavender and salted caramel to apple pie and ginger; carefully paired with 10 wine selections ranging from our buttery barrel aged Chardonnay and Double-Gold Medal winning Baco Noir to our light and sweet Orchard Blossom and Semi-Sweet Riesling!
Our owner, Sasha, together with Mr. DeJohn, will guide you through the thought process of the Macaron creations and Wine Pairing selections, and give you a little background on Macarons and how to taste wine.
