Guided Fly Fishing Trips
The company specializes in four main types of guided fly fishing trips, so simply choose the one that suits your interests!
1. Float Trips - From mid-May through mid-June, and then again during fall, you can book a guided overnight float fishing trip on the upper Hudson River Gorge. This section of the river is renowned for providing some of the region's best fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout and smallmouth bass.
During your overnight trip, you'll camp in a real wilderness setting and get to experience fishing in the evening, in the early hours of the morning, or at your leisure. Camping gear (except sleeping bags), meals, one of their licensed NYS guides, and rafting equipment will be included. Fishing gear can be rented for a reasonable fee before you go.
2. Bass Floats - From late spring through fall, you can take on one of the toughest fish in the region - bass. Beaver Brook's bass floats are one-day trips along a lower section of the Hudson River that is home to smallmouth bass. Upon request, you can also take a guided bass float on nearby lakes and ponds.
3. Backcounty Ponds - From ice-out (typically late April) through fall, you should try one of the company's hike-in trips to some of the Adirondacks' pristine mountain ponds for great brook trout fishing. Although the best months are May, June, September, and October, it's still fun any time in summer.
Hikes are roughly 1-5 miles each way, and you'll be well informed beforehand of what to expect.
4. Wading Trips - From mid-May through the fall, customize your guided wading trip in the Adirondacks. The company offers full and half-day wading trips to the dozens of streams and rivers within 30 minutes of the their North Creek base. Just give them a call, let them know what kind of fish you're looking for, and they'll get you out there.
In addition, from May through fall, one and two-day fly fishing courses are available for all abilities. Just like their guided trips, you will have the full attention of your skilled instructor.
