Get ready for Drop of Doom VR, a virtual reality experience that combines the fear of heights and the fear of spiders! Six Flags recently announced this new attraction coming to Great Escape this summer and it is most definitely not for the faint of heart.
Drop of Doom VR is going to be the area’s first-ever drop tower virtual reality attraction. Riders will be using Samsung Gear Virtual Reality to be the pilots of a futuristic aircraft that is under attack by mutant spiders.
The experience involves a high-speed virtual vertical ascent 1,000 feet in the air, a 360-degree rotating view of skyscrapers under attack by gigantic spiders, a 1,000-foot virtual plunge straight down between skyscrapers, and a final battle with a spider “the size of a van.”
And did we mention a battle against a giant spider that spews baby spiders, that virtually crawl all over your body?
Drop of Doom VR will make its debut at Great Escape this July; the park opens for the season on May 13th, with daily operation starting on June 14th.
Will you try Drop of Doom this summer?
