If this year’s lineup of events is any indication, the Festival Commons at Charles R. Wood Park will undoubtedly be a hotspot in Lake George Village this year. Not only will the festival space host the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival and the Americade Concert Series, but the 11th annual Hemmings Motor News Concours d’Elegance will make its Lake George debut on September 15-17!

Hemmings Motor News created their Concours d’Elegance in 2007 to introduce a world-class automotive event to New England. Their Concours d’Elegance weekend was inspired by the French Concours d’Elegance, in which pre-1974 vehicles were selected to the show by invitation.
As Hemmings’ Concours d’Elegance grew and eventually moved to Saratoga Springs, it began to broaden its scope. The event now features other categories aside from classic cars and trucks, such as vintage fire trucks, police cars, and military vehicles.
In addition, the Concours d’Elegance gives back to the local community by donating a portion of the event’s proceeds to charitable organizations.
This past January, Hemmings Motor News made the exciting announcement that the 11th annual Concours d’Elegance will make its debut in Lake George at Charles R. Wood Park’s Festival Commons. The Concours is slated for the weekend following the annual Adirondack Nationals Car Show in Lake George, making the back-to-back events a blockbuster pairing for auto enthusiasts.
Some of the featured marques at the 2017 Concours will include Studebaker, Wood-bodied Station Wagons, Chevrolet Camaro/Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981), and more.
To help the car show prepare for its debut, the Lake George Village Board has awarded the event’s organizers $4,000 in occupancy tax funding. This funding will go toward the cost of renting the county’s parking lot for the Concours.
Because of the popularity of car shows in the Lake George Region, you’ll want to book your stay for September 15-17 well in advance!
