It's Time To Visit Lake George by Mary Giella

Here's the latest on our snow/no snow winter

I just read an article written by David Taube at the Post Star.  We average about 65 inches of snow each winter.  Last winter we saw 89.2 inches of snow.  So far, we've had 15.5 inches of snow this season including our pre Halloween snow!  According to Brian Whitley, the senior meteorologist at North Country Weather, at this point last year, only 37.5 inches of snow fell.  That means that 51.7 inches fell after January 27th!  I feel another Valentine's Day blizzard in the air - that one was powerful and ruined alot of romantic dinner plans.  Let's hope it arrives before Valentine's Day.  It's Time to Visit Lake George - please bring some snow with you too!
