The season has been in full swing now for about a month. The fishing has been steady with good catches of lake trout and a few salmon as well. The waters are still quite cool now. Most trout and salmon will be found feeding on fly hatches on the surface or on smelt and ciscos suspended in the water column.Stick baits and streamer flys are the baits of choice for now.
As the water cools towards the end of the month the trout will head towards bottom and the salmon will move into the thermocline. This is when our tactics will change. We will cover those tactics towards the months end,so keep checking in. The attached photo is a32″laker. Good friend and customer Vladimir put this monster back in the lake for another lucky fisherman. It could be yours.
