Overview

The Glens Falls Feeder Canal is a 9-mile path for walkers, runners, and bikers that travels from Queensbury, NY to Fort Edward, NY along the original 19th century canal system.

Follow the Feeder Canal

The multi-use trail is designed for hiking and biking and is a great way to see the Glens Falls Region. The official starting point for the trail is the Hudson River Overlook Park in Queensbury, and the end is Mullen Park in Fort Edward.

It's recommended to stay on the towpath for your own safety and to respect the private property along the canal.

Parking & Directions

Although you can head out on to the Feeder Canal Trail at any section, here are the directions to some of the most popular starting points.

  • Hudson River Overlook Park - From Exit 18 on I-87, go east on Broad Street to Richardson Street. Go south .5-mile on Richardson Street to the park.
  • Haviland's Cove Park - From Exit 18 on I-87, go east on Broad Street to Staple Street. Go south on Staple Street until it turns into West State Street. Immediately turn on to Bush Street and you'll arrive ar Haviland's Cove Park.
