My husband and I had eaten here this past week and would never eat here again. My fish was dried out and could not eat it. My husband had the baby back ribs and it was All fat. The french fries were COLD and soggy. This place needs NEW MANAGEMENT.

OMG.... The best steaks, ribs and pulled BBQ Pork in Lake George. You have got to eat here. Prices are great, service friendly and food is OMG GOOD!!!! Will definitely stop here again. A++++ Guys!!!!

Our last night in Lake George finished nicely with the staff of the Barnsider. The food was sooooo delicious, the portion was out of this world !!!
Our waitress Mikayla gave an excellent service, the guitar player was also great. We recommend this restaurant.

My husband, son, and I went not once for dinner, but twice. Dinner was delicious and service was exceptional! Staff was gracious and accommodating! Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found this place to be an oasis in a sea of bad food. Ribs were outstanding. Chili is some of the best i have ever had. Any accommodation we needed was made with out 2 small daughters. And a compliment to the waiter Brandon who was attentive to our needs .Also had the pleasure to meet the owner on the way out. Down to earth and compliment on his chili.

Meal was good. Only skepticism was i saw a huge dog in the kitchen while leaving. Not sanitary in my book.

Food was excellent, generous proportions, and Jillian provided service was with a smile.

After reading all the reviews we were unsure if we should eat here. With our 3 yr old being over tired and a little on the hyper side,we decided to get take out. It was THE Best we have had in a while. THE ribs were AWESOME!!!! Definately would eat there again!

Me and the wife went here, and we weren't expecting much. But when we left, we were taken back. Great food,and service. Actually the food was amazing. This was just like having the famous bbq from down south. Everything was cooked to perfection. We have a vacation house and every weekend we go up we try to make time to get here.

My family and I have dinner at this restaurant everytime we visit Lake George and the food and the staff has always been just great. Our waitress Makala was very attentive with a great smile and the food was hot and the entire order was correct. A couple of times they even had a live jazz musician on board that played great jazz while you had your dinner and since we frequent the Newport Jazz Festival every year, this was music to our ears. This is a smoke house restaurant you and your family want to try.

My family was at the Barnsider for lunch on the 29th which we never got to eat. Our extended family of 10 including four children was kept waiting over an hour and still no food. We decided to leave at 1:00, and hour and ten minutes after we arrived. Contrary to the Barnsider?s response on the prior review, when we arrived for lunch at 12:00 on the same exact weekend, they were not busy at all, maybe 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. If you can?t manage to turn out food in an un-crowded restaurant, what is it like when the restaurant is crowded? As we were leaving, our waitress said ?It takes time to make homemade food?. Homemade food? My son ordered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich off the kids menu. Any parent can whip this up in seconds. If it takes this long to make your food then you should be focusing on a different cuisine or hiring a more efficient kitchen brigade. My family has eaten in restaurants all over the world including 3 starred Michelin restaurants in New York City and Paris, and a million and one different barbeque restaurants all over the country. Not a single one of us has ever left a restaurant prior to being served, until we were so unfortunate as to come upon the Barnsider. Even the most amateur restaurateur would have been sympathetic to children and offered a slice of bread, or offered to bring out the children?s meals first.

Barnsider encourages its guests to leave reviews on this website and at TripAdvisor for which I am also a member. I plan on leaving this review at Trip Advisor also. I encourage all the viewers here to take a look at some of the reviews on Trip Advisor which complain of very similar experiences and draw your own conclusions. I really hope this local business can get its act together and can improve their customer service because in the case of the Barnsider, where there?s smoke, there is indeed fire.

We waited for over 2 hours for our meal to come out and then when it did the ribs weren't cooked. We seen so many people walking out. I wouldn't recommened this place to anyone.

We are sorry that your experience was a negative one. Our goal is to provide a pleasing and satisfying dining experience. This past weekend was an extremely busy one and as the chef and owner I apologize that you had a longer wait, but two hours is not an accurate statement. Many people were walking out is also incorrect. We had a waiting line to get in! Finally our ribs our smoked for three to four hours as well as sauced on our broiler so your comment that the ribs were not cooked is also not factual. You may not have liked them because they are smoked and have what we describe as a smoke ring, but they are cooked. Finally, I do apologize that your experience was a poor one. I hope you can try us again the next time you are in Lake George.

Great food, exceptional value. Manages to deliver an atmosphere very appropriate for the Adirondacks. Enough said.

My fiance and I were at your restaurant on your last weekend, before closing for a the holidays. Pur server, Angela, was extremely friendly and professional, she helped to make our dining experience wonderful. We will be back when you open, and wish that you were open year round. We live so close, but had never been to your restaurant. We will be telling our friends and family about your restaurant, the great service and wonderful food! Thanks!

I ate lunch and dinner at the Barnsider Restaurant during my stay in Lake George. It was awesome! My compliments to the chef! It was the best burger I have ever had and the Ribs were terrific. Friendly staff and I loved the atmosphere. I ate out on the deck. There were several fireplaces and gas heaters. I love a fire! and to be able to feel the awesome October chill and stay warm at the same time! and enjoy a great meal...it doesn't get any better. The next time I visit, I will definately make a stop or 2 at the Barnsider.

Had dinner with my family and it was awesome. My son had to have ribs so this is where we headed, sure enough it was all you could eat rib hight, lets just say we all wrer happy campers. The atmosphere on the deck was great with live music and the staff was great. Would defintely go back!!!!!!! J.P. from CT.
