The Double H Ranch is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Derek Brown to its Board of Directors. The Double H Ranch is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides specialized year-round program services for children and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
Derek and his family have supported the efforts of the Double H Ranch for many years. He recognizes the critical importance of this mission in our society and will now dedicate his time and talents to impact the lives of the inspirational kids affiliated with the organization.
Derek is a former professional football player in the NFL and played the position of tight end for nine seasons. He was selected in the 1st round of the 1992 NFL draft and started as a freshman at Notre Dame as a high school All-American. He also graduated as a college All-American and pursued his dream of becoming a professional NFL player.
Following his NFL career, Derek became a successful entrepreneurial and innovative sales professional. He is currently an account manager for Blue Rock Energy which is an energy supply company in Syracuse, New York. Derek resides in Clifton Park with his wife and two sons.
“Derek will add great value to our Board and his passion for the children is evident through his words and desire to be a strong ambassador on their behalf”, stated Max Yurenda, CEO of the Double H Ranch.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, Derek will actively participate as a member of the Executive Development Committee and Special Events Committee.
Derek will be engaged in many public relations opportunities to build awareness about the Double H Ranch through the year. Given his strong attributes in communication, development and leadership, Derek will soon be recognized as a true ambassador for the Double H Ranch.
