In a new approach Dunham’s Bay Resort is supporting local agriculture by buying from a local farmer, Juniper Hill Farm, who shares views of providing individuals with wholesome and healthy foods. This helps support the community’s economy and encourages a sense of pride for our local goods. Ticonderoga, NY: Fort Ticonderoga's newest exhibit Sickness, Injury, and Medicine at Fort Ticonderoga, opened on May 17, 2013. “It would make a heart of stone melt.” The exhibit explores early medical theory, practice, and experience as each relates to the armies that served at Fort Ticonderoga in the 18th century.
Organized into several sections, the exhibit presents an overview of medical practices, diseases of the army, and the treatment of wounds for the armies that fought in America during the French & Indian War and American Revolution. Lake Luzerne, NY – September 12, 2012 – the Double H Ranch is proud to announce the marriage of Arthur, their donkey who thinks he’s a horse, to Reeve, a miniature horse. The marriage ceremony took place July 28th (original date July 27 but Arthur got cold hooves causing the delay) during Session 5 of Summer Residential Camp at the Double H Ranch. Mini-horse Destiny served as Maid of Honor, goat Figaro was ring bearer and other goats, rabbits and guinea pigs completed the wedding party. The Assistant Director of Operations officiated over the proceedings and Nurse Troy stood in as father of the bride. All Session 5 Double H campers, staff and volunteers were in attendance. Following the ceremony cake was shared by all. The couple departed for a honeymoon in the front of the barnyard.
