Lake George, NY: Dunham’s Bay Chef AJ Richards and Juniper Hill Farm are exploring the possibility of Farm to Table through CSAs. CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs are thought to be the antithesis of farm to market to kitchen for private households. In a new approach Dunham’s Bay Resort is supporting local agriculture by buying from a local farmer, Juniper Hill Farm, who shares views of providing individuals with wholesome and healthy foods. This helps support the community’s economy and encourages a sense of pride for our local goods. By doing this both the farm and restaurant benefit not only by supporting one another’s business, but also by showcasing community values and commitment. In an effort to differ from typical CSA programs, Juniper Hill Farm allows you to customize your share from the bounty of the weekly harvest. With this approach Chef AJ Richards feels he will be able to build ...

And these rations made it all the way to Ticonderoga, and became a bone of contention with the New York soldiers who were not nearly as well provisioned that year.”

On Saturday, October 13 meet the Connecticut soldiers posted in the fall of 1775 at Fort Ticonderoga’s upcoming living history event, and discover how chocolate was a simple luxury enjoyed by enlisted soldiers as well as officers. Step into the enlisted barracks and talk with soldiers ...
