An Adirondack Mountain retreat on the Hudson River at the end of a country road. State forest borders our 43 acres of fields, wildflowers, wildlife and woods. Ample breakfasts of your choice include homemade bread, muffins. Stroll our riverside and brookside paths, with the soothing sounds of flowing water and singing birds.
Nearby Warrensburg and Lake George offer antique and outlet shopping, Colonial historic sites and numerous restaurants. Reasonable rates. Serving many happy returns since 1974.
Step back in time and experience the Adirondacks as they once were. Country Road Lodge enjoys the peace, quiet, and solitude of a bygone day. Situated in a sheltered scenic valley at the edge of a thousand-acre wild forest, we offer a retreat from the frenetic pace of today's world.
Soak up the ambience from our comfortable living room with its panoramic view of the river and mountains beyond or from our screened gazebo with warm summer breezes. Stroll around our extensive perennial gardens or along riverside and brookside trails.
The birds you watched from the breakfast table may accompany you, or just continue with their activity as you pass. (April through June is a wonderful time to experience their mating and nest building!)
Venture further into the evergreen and deciduous forest on old logging trails or let us direct you to marked hiking trails and canoe access/rentals. Just a mile away you can rent a canoe or kayak for a paddle through one of the few unspoiled stretches of the Hudson, and they’ll return you to your starting point!
For those who can take this tranquility only so long, Warrensburg is a bucolic nineteenth century river mill hamlet located along the Schroon River, with small shops, nice restaurants, tree-lined residential streets and modest, friendly people. Show an interest in them and their history, and you will make new friends. You won't even know that you are only ten minutes away from all the activities associated with Lake George.
